Contact lenses can be an excellent way to improve your eyesight without having to wear or carry around glasses with you everywhere you go. While most contacts can be worn all day, or even for weeks at a time, eventually they need to come out. When you decide it's time to take your contacts out, it's important to take them out carefully to avoid destroying them in the process.
1. Wash your hands to make sure you don't get any dirt, bacteria or debris on your contact lenses when you remove them.
2. Fill both sides of a contact lens case with saline solution in preparation of storing your contacts.
3. Pinch both sides of your contact gently using two fingers to remove it from your eye. If you're new to removing contacts, you may want to do this in front of a mirror so that you grab the contact the first time. If you're having trouble, try touching the middle of the contact with one finger and then gently pinching toward that finger with another finger to grab hold of the contact.
4. Gently rinse your contact in your hand with saline solution to remove deposits that may have gotten on the contact while wearing it.
5. Place your contact in the appropriate section of your contacts case. Most cases are typically labeled with "R" for the right eye and "L" for the left.
6. Repeat Steps 3 through 5 for the other eye.
